About SEAM
Independent support, shaped by the client’s side of the table.
SEAM Advisory was founded by Karl French to help homeowners keep the many moving parts of a substantial renovation connected, visible and true to the original brief.

Practical judgement.
Quietly rigorous process.
SEAM grew from Karl’s own experience of developing and renovating high quality homes: making hundreds of interdependent choices, coordinating specialists and suppliers, and recognising how easily the client’s priorities can become fragmented between otherwise capable professionals.
Over eight years, Karl completed three substantial renovations of his own, from defining the brief and coordinating design through specification, procurement, construction oversight and completion. A fourth founder led project, a complete new build home, is now beginning.
The answer is not another layer of noise. It is a calm, disciplined client side system, one that records decisions, tests completeness and keeps the right information moving. View the project experience.

The name
A seam is where separate parts are thoughtfully held together.
The name also has a deeply personal meaning: Siana, Eleanor, Aliya and Mia are Karl’s daughters, and their initials form SEAM. Bringing up four daughters, each with her own character, needs and ambitions, has reinforced his belief that the best outcomes are built through care, patience, consistency and a clear sense of direction. The pride he takes in the people they have become, and are still becoming, is the standard he wants SEAM to embody as it grows: thoughtful, cohesive and ultimately something of lasting value.
